Women’s Football Initiative-Coaching 101

Ridge City Football Club Women continued the Women’s Football Initiative program with Coaching 101, facilitated by coach Eric Antwi at Mary Mother of Good Counsel School, Accra.

Eric Antwi is the Former Head Coach of Accra Great Olympics and Sekondi Eleven Wise, now the technical director of the Lizzy Sports Complex In Accra.

The facilitator, along with management of the Ridge City Football Club Women hosted over 30 participants to teach women the very basic elements of coaching.

He stated that, as a coach, your primary duties are to first manage people (players) and solve problems. Adding, although football entails intelligent movement, excellent passing and good ball control, communication is key and always an added advantage.

The program was divided into two sessions; theory and practical demonstrations. He left participants with the question, “what kind of coaches do they want to be”?

The next episode of coaching 101 is dated for Thursday 29th October 2020 at the same venue.

Women’s Football Initiative-Laws of the Game

The Ridge City women’s football initiative program continued with Phrank Delali Awutey on laws of the Game on Friday 11th October at the Base camp East Legon and 18th October held on online.

He spoke to the audience on topics ranging from laws of the game on the field, Player status and Age cheating in women’s football.

Christine Burkhard and George Appiah were present from Swiss Embassy in Ghana to offer their support.

Part two of the program with Mr.Awutey was held online with participants asking questions via a Twitter Questions and Answer section before proceeding to the zoom section
